Sharing this in case someone else has figured it out: Trying to figure out how to view hidden files on a Mac without using the Terminal.
Hi tracecore563,
You can view hidden files on your Mac without using the Terminal by using a built-in Finder shortcut. Here’s how:
- Open any Finder window.
- Press Command (⌘) + Shift + Period (.) on your keyboard.
Hidden files (like those that start with a dot, such as .DS_Store) will now become visible and appear slightly grayed out. To hide them again, just press the same shortcut (Command + Shift + Period) once more. This feature works in all Finder windows and on the Desktop.
Let me know if you need any more tips or run into issues!
